How to make Toilet Roll Flower Stamps.

Step 1. Draw the petals.

The first part of these toilet paper roll stamps is to draw the petals on one end of the cardboard rolls.

The best part about making these flowers is that you can experiment with different shapes and make different kinds of flowers. You can make petals that are long, short, narrow, wide. Whatever you feel like making.

You can turn a toilet roll stamp into any number of different fun crafts. I’ve also used this idea to make a spider and shapes.

2. Cut out the petals, and bend them backwards.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the flower petal on the end of the toilet paper roll. Then bend each of the petals back about 90 degrees. You’ll find that the different petal shapes result in a different flower when you spread each of the petals out.

Cutting the paper towel rolls is a great way for young kids to develop fine motor skills. While older kids will be able to do this themselves, young children, like toddlers, will need help with this step.

If you’re not comfortable with using old toilet rolls, don’t worry. You can still buy new cardboard craft rolls from Amazon instead.

3. Dip your toilet paper roll flowers in paint.

Spread paint in different colors on an old plastic lid, I like to spread them around a bit so that the paint is large enough to fit the entire toilet roll stamp flowers.

My little girl had a lot of fun dipping her flowers in the blue and pink paint.

4. Press onto the paper

Now, painting flowers with toilet paper rolls is just a matter of pressing your stamps onto some construction paper. If you like, you can hold the stamps in place and use your finger to press each petal down, to make sure the paint transfers nicely. Either way, the whole family will have so much fun with this easy peasy craft idea.

5. Make the yellow center.

The flower stamp will mean that the center of the flower will be empty. However there are many different ways to make the middle of your flower yellow.

An easy way is to use household items that you already have on hand. Things like cotton balls or bottle caps work perfectly.

You can also cut small circles out of tissue paper and glue them into place.

I decided to use one of our old foam blocks. We had a circle one that was the perfect size for this art project and since it was foam, it was easy to wash up once we were done.
