How to Make A Storm Cloud Threading Activity
1. Draw a cloud shape onto a small paper plate.

I used small paper plates because that’s what I had on hand. If you prefer you can use cardboard instead and glue cotton balls onto it to make your clouds feel fluffy.
2. Use a hole punch to make some small holes in the bottom of the cloud.

Your kids can do this step for you. Using a hole punch is another fantastic way to help kids strengthen their finger muscles.
3. Cut some pipe cleaner into 4 inch pieces, thread and connect them to the holes in the bottom of the cloud.

I used white and blue pipe cleaner, to represent snow and rain. What I wish I had thought of at the time is to make a yellow one to represent lightning as well. Maybe you can try a lightning storm with your class and explore the different types of storms you can get.
4. Thread the beads onto the pipe cleaner.

The beads represent the rain, snow, hail or whatever other weather storm you want to talk about with your class.
