  1. Printer and blue paper
  2. White paper
  3. Glue
  4. Colored permanent markers
  5. Scissors

While I used a piece of construction paper to make the snowmen for this craft, you can also use white paint instead. Simply use a small paintbrush to cover your childs hand in white paint and press it down to the center of the snow globe.

Once the paint is dry, then you’ll be able to draw the rest of your snowmen.

1. Download and print the snowman template.

I printed this digital product onto a piece of light blue paper. But if you don’t have any blue paper, you can always print it out on regular white paper and then paint your handprint snowmen blue instead.

The instant download of this printable can be found below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.

2. Trace around your childs hand onto a piece of paper.

Place your child’s hand onto a sheet of paper and trace around each of the fingers. Older kids will be able to do this themselves, however younger kids may need an adult to help them.

3. Cut out the handprint.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the handprint. Once again, young kids who are still working on their scissor skills might need help with this step.

4. Glue the handprint to the middle of the snow globe.

Use a glue stick to attach the handprint to the center or the snow globe.

5. Draw the features.

Draw the eyes, carrot nose and mouth on each of your snowmen. If you let your child draw each snowman to represent some of your family members then that turns this great keepsake into a fun family picture too.

While I stuck with winter hats and scarves, you can also try drawing top hats, tiny hands and arms or even little buttons down the snowman’s torso.

6. Add your name

This is something that I didn’t do, but wish I had. Write each child’s name with a black marker in the base of the snow globe.
