Materials Needed
- Free surfboard printable template
- Crayons or paint
- Scissors
- Glue
- Blue and light brown paper
How to Make a Surfboard Craft for Kids
1. Download and print the Surfboards
The free digital file is found below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.
Free printables for kids are always nice to have on hand. Save this one for your summer or beach themed lesson plans.

2. Decorate your surfboards.
Use whatever you feel like to decorate your surfboards. From crayons to acrylic paint, there are any number of ways to make art.
3. Cut out the surfboards
Use a pair of scissors to cut around the edge of the surfboards. Toddlers may need help with this step as they are still working on their scissor skills.
4. Glue them onto your background.
I used a sheet of light blue paper (for the sky) and brown paper (for the beach sand) to make my background. However a simple sheet of blue paper that looks like the ocean would also look wonderful.
