Materials Needed

  1. Easter number match puzzles pdf file
  2. Printer and paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Laminating machine (optional)

How to Make the Easter Number Match Puzzles

1. Download and print the number puzzles

The digital file can be found below. Just head to the bottom  of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.

2. Laminate

This step is optional. However I highly recommend laminating the puzzles to help make them more sturdy. This will ensure that you can use the same puzzles with next year’s class too.

3. Cut out the puzzle pieces

Use a pair of scissors to cut each of the Easter puzzle into their individual pieces.

How to Play

1. Look at the top half

The top of the egg has the numeral written for you to read. This is a great way for young children to practice number recognition from 1 – 10.

2. Find the matching bottom half

The bottom of the egg has a number of dots that you will need to count. Find the bottom half that has the same number of dots as is written in the top half.

For example, if you are looking for the number 10, find the bottom half that has 10 dots on it.

This is a fun way for younger kids to practice counting and one-to-one correspondence.

3. Place the two pieces together

Line up the two puzzle pieces to make number-numeral matching eggs.

Then repeat steps 1 – 3 with all of the other puzzle pieces.
