How to Make a Handprint Witches Cauldron Art
1. Paint your hand
You’ll need to divide your hand into three sections for this art project to work.
- Paint the top third of your palm green.
- Paint the bottom 2 thirds of your palm black
- Paint your four fingers grey (do not include the thumb).
2. Press it against the paper
Encourage your kids to press down their hand firmly against the paper and then not move it. Young kids can have an urge to move their fingers from side to side when making handprints. If you remind them to try and keep still before you press their hand down, then your picture is less likely to smudge.
3. Let the paint dry.
4. Draw the details.
When the paint is dry, take a black marker or a black paint pen and draw the shape of a cauldron around the green and black parts of your picture.
This step is completely optional. If you’re doing this Halloween art activity with an entire class of toddlers or preschoolers, then it may be easier for you to skip this step entirely.
