More Process Art Ideas to Try

Process art is an incredible creative activity for kids because it gives them the opportunity to create without limits. They don’t have to follow a set of instructions. There is no right or wrong way for their picture to look. They can express themselves, experiment, and relax with total freedom. Here are some of my most popular process art ideas to get you started.

Washable window paint – Make DIY washable window paint and turn any window, garage door, or car into a canvas. This recipe is so easy to make and will absolutely delight your kids.

Rainbow lightning – Learn how to make colors fracture and splinter into lightning patterns right before your eyes. This amazing kids art idea is surprisingly easy to make, even toddlers and preschoolers can try it.

Fizzy painting – art ideas for kids usually involve more science than we realize, and this is one perfect example. Watch the colors fizz and bubble as you make your artwork, all with the help of some simple kitchen science.

Splat Painting – out of all the process art projects I’ve tried with my kids, this one was their favorite. Because they had to smash paint filled sponges with wooden spoons, and see the results of the splat.

5. Lift up the paper and lay it down on a flat surface. Then use a ruler to scrape the shaving foam off.
Don’t worry, this won’t remove the color. But once again, be gentle, otherwise you might tear the paper by accident.

6. Leave the paper to dry.
