How to Make a Rain in a Jar Science Activity
1. Fill a clear plastic jug 2/3rd with water.
A plastic vase is perfect for this activity. Or even a cup if you want to do a smaller activity for each individual child.
2. Place a layer of shaving foam on the top of the water.
This will represent the clouds that the rain has to come from.

3. Drip several drops of food coloring onto the top of the shaving foam.
As the drops of food coloring slowly hit the water, they will create swirling patterns as they fall. Looking like rain. You can also try this activity using lots of different colors and make a rainbow instead.
