Materials Needed

  1. A large plastic container
  2. Super Stretch cobweb decoration
  3. Plastic Spiders

I used a small packet of the super stretchy cobwebs. If you’ve already got a large packet all ready for decorating your house, just save a small amount for this easy sensory play idea.

How to make a Spider Web Sensory Bin

1. Separate your stretchy cobweb into half.

This is optional. I wanted to have my sensory bin in two layers, one on top of the other. So that my kids had to dig through the first layer to get to the spiders underneath.

2. Line the bottom of your container with one half of the spider web material.

3. Place an assortment of spiders on top of the spiderweb.

4. Take the second half of your spider web material and drape it in an additional layer, over the top of your plastic tub.

5. Place more spiders on top of your second layer.

6. Enjoy playing.

One thing I loved about this collection of plastic spiders, is that they come in different sizes. This means that your kids can sort and arrange the spiders by size. Arranging the spiders from smallest to biggest is a great way to get kids to learn a bit of math.
