How to Make a Sticker Shapes Fine Motor Activity

Step 1: Draw your shapes.

Take an A4 sized paper and draw some simple 2D shapes on it. If you prefer, you can choose to do only one shape in the middle of the paper or have several. It depends on what you are trying to focus on that day.

2. Color in the shapes

This is optional, but I personally liked how my children can match the colors of the dot stickers to the colors of the shapes. It added an extra dimension to this activity for the kids.

If you do decide to color in the shapes, try to make sure that the borders are very prominent. This just makes it easier for the kids to recognize the shape and the different components that it consists of.

3. Peel and stick the dot stickers to the outer edge of each shape.

Follow the lines, and talk about the different components of each shape. For example, how many sides does this triangle have? Is the line straight or curved?
