How to Make the Valentine’s Day Beginning Sounds Cards

1. Download and print the digital files

You can find the free printable files at the bottom of the post. To get your copy all you need to do is click the large blue button.

2. Laminate each page

This step is optional, however I highly recommend it. Laminating each of the cards will make them more sturdy.

As an alternative you can also glue each of the cards onto a sheet of thick cardboard to make them more durable.

3. Cut the page into the individual cards

Take a pair of scissors and cut each page into its individual cards.

4. Collect your clothespins

All you have to do now is to collect your cards and clothespins and enjoy playing.

How to Play

1. Look at the image on the top section of the card

Each card has a different picture in the top section. Identify the object and say its name out loud, listening to the first sound in the word.

You’ll also notice the name of the image in the top right hand corner. If you don’t want the name on the card, then just cut it off with some scissors.

2. Look at the three letters on the bottom of the card

There are three different letters in the bottom section of the card. One is correct and two are incorrect.

After listening to the first sound in the object’s name, identify which letter represents that sound.

3. Peg a clothespin onto the correct letter

The last step is to take a clothepeg and clip it over the correct letter.

Then move onto the next card and repeat the entire process.
