How to Make Flower Soup
1. Grab a large tub and fill it with water.
Water is one of my favorite sensory bin fillers. I use it all the time because my kids never get bored playing with it. They just love splashing around day after day.
2. Pick some flowers.
My kids have been having a lot of fun lately picking flowers (even when I tell them not to). This sensory bin started when I was presented with a handful of flowers that I didn’t want to be picked.
Instead of mourning the loss of my colorful garden, I decided to add to my list of sensory activities for kids. After all, the damage was done, and you can’t really get angry with a baby and a toddler who don’t know any better.

3. Add them to the water.
Place the petals, or whole flower heads into the tub of water. I also liked the idea of adding in some leaves or grass, but you can use whatever you like.
4. Pour, scoop, mix and enjoy playing.
Next time, I’m going to add a fruit tea bag to the water. I think that the smell and taste of the tea will add an extra dimension to this sensory play idea.
