There is so much life out in the garden and each animal has their own special place to call home. Teach your kids about our animal friends with this free Garden Animal – Home Matching Game printable.
Help the garden animals find their way home. This free printable is great for teaching your toddlers or preschoolers about the ways different animals lives. Why do ants live underground? What do bees make in their hive? What does a bird build its nest from? How does a spider make its web? There are so many questions to be answered.

- Printer and paper
- Laminating machine (optional)
- Marker
How to Play the Garden Animal – Home Matching Game
1. Download and print the free printable.
You can find the link to the free printable below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.
2. Laminate the page (optional)
Laminating the page is optional. If I know I’m going to do this activity again and again, then I like to either laminate it or place it in a dry erase pocket.
3. Pick a garden creature.
In the left hand column are a series of animals that you can find in th garden. Pick one creature to start with.
4. Fine it’s home in the right hand column.
The right hand column has a picture of all of the places our garden animals live. Find the correct home to match the animal your originally picked.
5. Draw a line between the two.
take a pencil or dry erase marker and draw a line between the animal and it’s home. Repeat this process for all of the animals on this worksheet.
