Cut and Paste Craft

1. Download and print the free template.

This fun astronaut craft comes in both black and white and color. The color pages also include a variety of different skin tones, so that you can use this activity with a class filled with diverse students.

2. Cut out the individual pieces.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the letter A and the head, arms and legs of the astronaut.

Using scissors is a great way to help young children develop fine motor skills. However some will find it hard to cut out the inside circle from the letter A and may need an adult to help them. Or you can encourage your kids to just color this section in instead.

3. Glue the A onto your background.

I used a dark blue background for this fun astronaut craft. But you can use whichever color you like.

You also don’t need to have a separate background at all. I intentionally left the letter A on it’s own sheet of paper. So that you could simply paint the background on the letter A sheet instead.

4. Glue the astronaut head and limbs onto the A.

Use a glue stick to attach the helmet piece to the top of the A, the arms on either side and finally, the astronaut’s boots to the bottom of the A.

5. Let it dry.

When you’ve finished pasting everything down, let it dry before hanging your pictures up on the wall.
