How to Make a Bubble Wrap Lemonade Craft

Step 1. Make the bubble wrap stamp

Take 2-3 tissues and roll them into a ball. The more tissues you use, the larger your stamp will be.

Wrap a piece of bubble wrap around the tissues, with the bubble side facing outwards.

Collect the edges of the bubble wrap and tie them together with an elastic band, like in the picture above. If you don’t have an elastic band handy, you can just use sticky tape instead.

2. Paint the bubbles

Spread some white paint on a dish or piece of foil, and dip your bubble wrap stamp in the paint.

Stamp the white paint all over a sheet of yellow craft paper. These will be the bubbles in your glass of lemonade.

I found that keeping the layer of white paint quite thin had the best results. If you have too much paint on your bubble wrap stamps, then you won’t see the circle patterns on the yellow paper nicely. Instead you’ll just have one large blob.

If you do get too much paint on your stamp, just stamp off the excess paint on a spare sheet of paper, or on the side of your paint tray first.

3. Cut out the lemonade

Take your ruler and draw rectangles, the size that you want your lemonade to be.

I decided to make the bottom section of the glass smaller than the top. Giving my drawing slightly angled sides (Just like most real glass tumblers). However this may be too tricky for younger children to do, so just aim for a regular rectangle instead.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out your lemonade.

4. Make the glasses

Glue the lemonade onto a sheet of white craft paper. Make sure that you leave a bit of space around each of the yellow rectangles.

Take your ruler, and draw a slightly larger rectangle around each of the lemonade pictures. So that a bit of white is showing next to the yellow.

You can also make the white section at the top of your lemonade taller, than at the edges. This is because it will be the top of your glass in the picture.

If you like, you can make the top section of white significantly taller than your yellow. This will make it look like your glass is half full when your art project is finished.

Finally, cut out the white paper, your lemonade glasses, and glue them onto a colorful background.

I chose blue, but you can pick whatever color background you like for this picture. Or don’t have a background at all and leave your glasses as they are.

5. Give them some straws

Finally, take a straw, and glue it on top of your lemonade glasses. Feel free to play around with different angles to see what you think works best.

Let everything dry and enjoy your picture.
