Materials Needed
- Egg carton cups
- Acrylic Paint
- Brown paper
- Blue or white craft paper
- Glue
- A brown pen or pencil
- Scissors
How to make an Egg Carton Ice Cream Craft
Make the ice cream scoops
Step 1. Start by cutting your egg carton into individual cups.
You’ll need one cup for each scoop of ice cream that you’re going to make.
2. Paint the egg carton cups.
Decorate your ice cream scoops however you like. I went for a simple chocolate, vanilla, strawberry combination. But you can also choose to add sprinkles, paint chocolate sauce, or even add a red pom pom as a cherry on the top of your ice cream cone.
Make the waffle cone
3. Cut a small triangle out of the brown paper.
Glue it down onto your piece of construction paper. Place it near the bottom, making sure to leave enough room for your ice cream scoops to go on top.
4. Draw the details.
I used a brown marker to draw the cross hatch pattern on my ice cream cone. A pencil or crayon would work too. Or, if you prefer, just leave your paper blank.
Put them together
5. The final step is to glue your scoops onto the top of your waffle cone.
You can choose to stack them like a pyramid (like in the picture). Or stack them on top of each other like an ice cream tower. Whichever way you choose, your kids are going to love the picture they created.
