  1. The free caterpillar name craft template
  2. Printer and paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Glue
  5. A black marker

How to Make a Caterpillar Name Craft

1. Download and print the paper caterpillar craft template.

There are two different versions of this name caterpillar for you to choose from. One is black and white and designed classrooms. It consists of three different pages which should be printed off on different colored paper for your students to enjoy.

The other version is in color and is designed for families. This consists of a single page that can be printed off on regular white paper.

2. Cut out the pieces

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the heads, body parts and legs. Using scissors is a fantastic fine motor activity which will help develop hand-eye coordination and strengthen the muscles in the hands and fingers.

3. Glue the pieces onto a sheet of paper.

Make sure that you have one body part for each letter of your name. For example, someone with the name Ann has three letters in their name, and will therefore need 3 different body part circles.

Once all of the pieces have been glued into place, let your picture dry.

4. Write your name on the caterpillar’s body.

Use a black marker to write your name on the caterpillar. Place one letter on each of the body part segments.
