I don’t know about you, but as soon as Christmas comes around the first thing I look for is kids craft ideas. I got so excited about this Craft Stick Reindeer Craft all because of the nose.

The nose is a red jingle bell, so this reindeer sounds a little bit like Santa’s sleigh when you shake it. How many reindeer crafts for kids double as a DIY musical instrument and sensory toy? Well this one does. So make them with your preschool or kindergarten class and enjoy a Christmas sing-along.

Christmas Crafts for Kids

Popsicle Stick Fireplace Craft – this little fireplace is made out of craft sticks and comes complete with Santa feet sticking out of the chimney. This cute craft stick craft would make a wonderful Christmas tree ornament or Christmas craft to send hometown parents.

Magnetic Salt Dough Christmas Decorations – these are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. After the kids help you to make the decorations, glue a magnet on the back of each of them. Then use green wrapping paper to create a Christmas tree on your fridge. I did this with my kids because they loved playing with the real tree. With their own Christmas tree on the fridge, they were able to decorate it with these magnetic decorations whenever they wanted.

String Pulled Reindeer – Create the antlers for this reindeer using the string pulling method. This fun process art activity comes with a free printable in both color and black and white.

How to Make A Craft Stick Reindeer

Step 1. Paint the popsicle stick brown.

I used the jumbo sticks this time. However I’ve also used the regular sized sticks in previous years and they still work wonderfully. I just find that it’s easier to paint the eyes on the regular sticks instead of using googly eyes.

2. Once the paint has dried, glue two twigs to the back of the popsicle stick.

If you can, find twigs that have a fork in them. These will be the reindeers antlers, and having some prongs in the antlers would be a fabulous detail to include.

3. Lastly, glue the two googly eyes and jingle bell onto the front of the stick.

The jingle bell will be the reindeer’s nose, so if you can find red ones that would be great. If you can’t find red ones, then use a red sharpie to color in the jingle bells. It only takes a minute and the jingle bells are ready to use straight away.
