How to Make a Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer Craft

1. Paint your paper towel rolls brown.

If you are doing this fun craft with a class full of students, then you can also provide a few different shades of brown or grey paint, so that they can choose what color they want their reindeer to be. This is a great way to let your kids use their imagination and create their own reindeer that is unique.

2. Draw a small oval (roughly 1 inch by 2/3 inch in size) onto some brown paper.

3. Cut out the circle and glue it to the center of the brown toilet rolls.

This is an easy way to define the nose area of your toilet roll reindeer. If you don’t have any brown paper handy, then you can always use a different shade of brown paint instead.

While I used a regular glue stick, you can also attach the long oval piece using a hot glue gun or sticky tape if you prefer.

4. Glue the red pom pom to the center of the small brown paper oval.

This will give you a red-nosed reindeer like Rudolph, however a small brown or black pom pom would also work perfect for this easy reindeer craft.

5. Glue the eyes above the nose.

You can also just draw the eyes onto this little guy using a black marker or paint pens.

6. Finally, to complete the reindeer’s face, draw a small mouth using a black marker.

7. Draw a pair of ears and antlers onto some brown paper.

8. Cut out the antlers and place them on the top of your cardboard roll.

These last two steps were a bit fiddly. If you are doing this fun craft with older children then they should be able to do this step by themselves. However, if you are doing this craft with younger kids, then the reindeer’s horns will be too difficult for them.

If you are doing this craft with toddlers and preschoolers, then there is a more simple way to make antlers. You can use brown pipe cleaners (roughly 2-3 inch pieces) for the antlers and use a piece of tape to attach them to the top of the roll instead.
