More Easter Themed STEM Activities

STEM is a great way to teach children some essential life skills, like planning, creative problem solving and more. Here are some of my favorite STEM activities with an Easter theme.

Materials Needed

  1. Easter Pattern cards
  2. Printer and paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Laminating machine and sheets

Preparing the Easter Pattern Cards

1. Download and print the pattern cards.

The printable explores AB, ABB, AAB and ABA patterns. So there’s lots of opportunity for children to learn.

The pdf file can be found below. Just head to the bottom of the page and click the large blue button to get your free copy.

2. Laminate each of the pages

This step is completely optional. However I do recommend doing something with your pages in order to make them more sturdy. Laminating them or placing them in page protectors are an easy way to make sure that they last and can be used with next year’s class too.

3. Cut out the individual flashcards

The last page is a single square of each of the pictures. You’ll need to cut these out so that you can use them to complete the sequence on your pattern game.

How to Play

1. Observe the pattern within the block.

Look at the series of Easter eggs on the left hand side of the page.

Talk to your kids about what they see (which increases vocabulary) and explain what a pattern is.

2. Figure out which picture comes next in the pattern.

Once your kids know what a pattern is and how to figure it out, ask them to find which picture comes next in the sequence on the task cards.

3. Place the correct picture in the space provided.

Find the correct picture and place it in the square provided at the end of each Easter pattern block.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 with all the patterns on the page

Complete the page and see if your children use the correct easter egg. If not, then you can always explain what a pattern is in a different way and try again.

Are you going to try these Easter Pattern Cards with your kids?
Don’t forget to pin the idea for later.
