Materials Needed
- Toilet Rolls or Cardboard Craft Tubes
- Painters Tape
- Pom Poms
- A plastic tub for catching the pom poms
I’m very glad that I had a bag of pom poms that varied in size. I found that the 1 inch ones were too big, and didn’t fall through the tube as easily as the smaller ones did.
If you don’t already have pom poms at home and you do need to go and buy some, I recommend getting a bag of multi-sized pom poms.
How to Make a Fridge Door Pom Pom Drop Activity

Setting up this pom pom drop activity is so easy. All you need to do is:
1. Attach the cardboard tubes to the fridge door using painters tape.
You can change the angle of each tube and how many you stick to the fridge.
If you have a smaller container then you can angle each tube a bit to make sure that each pom-pom (mostly) lands inside the container.
2. Place a plastic tub filled with pom poms below the cardboard tubes.
This will catch all of the pom poms once they’ve been dropped.

This activity was very easy to set up. It took only 5 minutes, which would have been two if my little ones hadn’t tried to “help”.
When my son was finished dropping the pom poms down the tubes he had fun pulling the tubes off. However, I discovered that when that happened, all I need to do was change the arrangement of the tubes.
By creating a new pattern with the tubes he became interested in dropping the pom-poms again.
Resparking my son’s interest in the activity wasn’t what I had intended to do. I just wanted to put the tubes back on the fridge because my baby girl was still having fun playing. However, I was very pleased that it turned out that way for me.
