How to Make a Magnetic Craft Stick Color Sort Puzzle

1. To make the felt pockets, cut a strip of colored felt, approximately twice as high as it is wide.
2. Fold the felt (almost) in half, leaving a gap between the edges. As you can see in the photo of step 2, the back of the pocket is higher than the front.
I did this on purpose so that it was easier for the craft sticks to slot into the felt pocket. Glue the right and left sides together.
3. Cut a strip of adhesive magnetic tape and stick it to the top and bottom of each of the felt pockets.

4. Cut small squares of the adhesive magnetic tape and put it on the back of each of the colored craft sticks.
This step is optional as the craft sticks don’t need to be magnetic too. I did this because I can then use the craft sticks to make fridge door pictures when this color sort activity is finished. You can always put the craft sticks in a plastic container for your kids to pull out as they wish.
