How to Make an Ice Cream Handprint Craft

1. Download and Print the Template

Head to the bottom of the post to get your copy of the free template. Just click the large blue button and print the pdf on white paper to get started.

2. Cover Your Hand in Paint

Use a paintbrush to spread paint all over the palm and fingers of your child’s hand. 

You can use whichever color you like to make this fun craft. It’s a great way to get younger kids to talk about their favorite ice cream flavours and what they want to do over the Summer.

3. Press your Palm to the Paper

Lay your hand, paint down, on top of the ice cream cone. 

If you want a very clear outline of your child’s handprint, then encourage them to try and keep their fingers still. Young children have an impulse to wiggle their fingers around because they like the feel of the paint on their hands, but it also means that it’ll smudge the handprint. 

4. Let the Paint Dry

Remove your hand from the paper and let it dry.

If you want to add some additional touched to this handprint ice cream cone, you can also:

1. Glue some rainbow rice on top to look like sprinkles.
2. Add a red pom pom to the top of the cone to look like a cherry.
3. Use a q-tip to make a spotty background pattern around your ice cream scoops.
