  2. Printer and paper
  3. Green craft paper
  4. Scissors
  5. Glue

1. Download and print the template

If you are making this craft project as a personalized Christmas gift to give to parents, then I recommend printing it onto thick card stock. However, if you’re just using it as an easy Christmas craft idea to do with your young children at home, then normal printer paper works fine.

You can find the digital download below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to download today.

2. Trace the handprint onto a sheet of green paper.

Place the children’s little hands on a sheet of green paper and trace around their fingers and palm. Older kids will be able to do this step by themselves, but toddlers will most likely need an adult to help them.

3. Cut out the handprint.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the handprint.

Using scissors is a great way for little kids to practice their fine motor skills, but once again, toddlers will probably need an adult to do this step for them.

4. Glue the handprint to the printable

Spread glue over the back of the green handprint and stick it to the center of the bauble. Once it’s dry, your child’s handprint craft makes the perfect gift for the holiday season.

While I used paper for this Christmas handprint craft, you can also use green paint instead. Simply apply the paint to your child’s hand with a small paintbrush and press it onto the space in the middle of the page. Once the paint is dried you can give your handprint keepsake to family members as a special gift.
