As parents and teachers, we all want to make learning fun for young children. If we can inspire our kids to fall in love with the learning process, then their school and adult lives will be so much easier.

Thankfully, we can teach kids anything, even alphabet letters, in a fun way so that it feels just like play. These ABC coloring pages are exactly that. A play activity that also teaches your little learners upper and lowercase letters as well as beginning sounds.

Not only do these printable sheets help kids of all ages with their letter recognition skills. They also help out teachers, by giving them easy literacy centers for their preschool or kindergarten students.

Take a look at all the different kinds of printable sheets included in this ABC coloring book.

Letters of the Alphabet Coloring Pages

1. Entire Alphabet Coloring Pages

These letter coloring pages have the entire alphabet on a single page. There are sheets for both upper and lowercase letters in 5 different fonts.

That way, your children can also explore the different ways that some letters look, depending on the font that is being used.

2. Beginning Sounds Coloring Pages (Single image set)

This set of alphabet coloring sheets features a picture that also starts with the sound of the focus letter. For example, A is for Astronaut.

There are 6 different pages for each letter, even the letter X. Although the letter X, since this is such an underused letter, has pictures that both begin and end with an X.

3. Beginning Sounds Coloring Pages (Multi image set)

This set in the alphabet coloring book has multiple images on one page. All of these images begin with the focus letter. Encouraging your children to recognize that each word starts with the same beginning sound.

4. Food themed Alphabet Coloring Pages

This is a great way to learn the alphabet and talk about healthy eating at the same time. These food themed a – z alphabet coloring pages each have a different border that features a food that starts with the focus letter.

For example, Q is for quinoa, and V is for Vanilla.

Discuss which foods are everyday food and which ones are sometimes foods with your class.

5. Pop Art Alphabet Coloring Pages

These are my favorite printable coloring sheet out of the entire set. I just loved how you can add in your own design details around the letter of the alphabet.

I particularly love the idea of getting each student in the class to make a different letter, then hang the pictures up along the wall. Making their own alphabet train that they can refer to anytime they like.
