How to Make a Strawberry Handprint Craft

1. Download and print the “I Love You Berry Much” printable template.

You’ll find the digital files at the bottom of the post. Simply click the blue button to get your free copy.

You’ll get both a full page and half page template. The full page is perfect to use as a cute craft that you can hang on the wall. The half page is designed to be folded in half and used as a card for a special occasion, like Mother’s day or Father’s day.

2. Paint your child’s hand with red.

If you don’t want to use washable paint, then you can always use red construction paper instead. Simply trace around your child’s little hands and cut out the handprint outline. You can then glue the red paper onto your background instead.

3. Press the hand down firmly onto the page.

Encourage your kids to not move their fingers around while making their handprint, as this will leave smudges. It can be hard for them to resist, especially for young children. So don’t worry if it doesn’t create the clear handprint outline that you were hoping for. It’s all about having fun and spending some quality time together.

4. Let the paint dry.

5. Paint the leaves and stem.

Use green paint or green paper to make the leaves and stem at the top of your strawberry craft.

6. Draw on the seeds.

I used my black paint pen to draw the smiley face. I prefer to use an acrylic paint pen when drawing on paint, because I find that drawing on paint with regular black markers shortens the marker’s lifespan.

The colors are also more vibrant when using paint pens instead of markers, and gives the best results.
