Summer Lemon Sensory Bin
When summer comes around, my go-to toy is actually water. You can use it for so many things and for some reason my kids just love it. The most expensive toy they’ve gotten doesn’t even come close to just splashing in a tub filled with water. The next time you add some lemon to your water bottle, save some for this Summer Lemon Sensory Bin.

How to set up a Summer Lemon Sensory Bin
1. Cut the lemon into slices.

Take a couple of lemons and cut them into slices. If your kids love tasting lemons, then you can always cut them into wedges instead.
2. Fill a container with water.

Take your plastic tub, or water table, and fill it with water.
If your kids love playing with water, then make sure you try some of these water-based sensory bins.
3. Add blue food coloring to the water
Add a few drops of food coloring to make the water turn blue. Food coloring is great if you want to make taste-safe sensory activities. However, use it carefully because food coloring does stain clothes and hands.
4. Add the lemons to the water.

Even though I only used lemons in this sensory bin my kids played with it for a fairly long time. They loved scooping up the lemons and watching them float along the top of the water.
You can also add extra things to your tub, like flowers or leaves from the garden if you kids want to add their own ingredients.
5. Enjoy playing

Gather your sensory bin tools and start playing.
Kids will have so much fun simply scooping and pouring the ingredients from one container to another.
This is a great way for them to cool down and learn fine motor skills at the same time.
