1. Draw the heart template

Use a pencil to draw a large heart shape onto a sheet of white card stock.

2. Arrange the pink paper

I used pink post its for this craft, but you can also use whatever craft materials you already have on hand.

You also don’t need to use another color of paper at all. Instead you can layer strips of washi tape on your heart in straight lines instead.

3. Tape down the edges

Use washi tape to tape down the edges of your paper.

If you don’t want to do this step, you can use some glue to attach the paper to your heart shape.

4. Decorate with washi tape

Use your strips of tape to decorate your heart however you wish.

Don’t worry about any excess tape going over the edges of your heart design, as you’ll take care of this in the next step.

5. Cut out the heart outline

Use a pair of scissors to cut out your washi tape creations.

6. Enjoy

Your paper heart is ready. Use it to decorate your classroom, or glue it onto the front of a homemade Valentine’s day card.
