How to Make a Handprint Monster Craft

1. Place your child’s hand onto a sheet of paper.
I chose blue construction paper, but the color is optional. Let your young kids pick what color they want for their own monsters.

2. Trace around your child’s hand.

3. Cut out the handprint outline.
Older children will be able to do this step by themselves. However toddlers and preschoolers may need an adult to help them.
It will depend on their level of fine motor skills and how capable they are with scissors.

4. Draw a monster mouth.
I used my white and black paint pens to draw fangs on my monster. However your kids can draw whatever face they like, such as a scary growl or a toothless grin.
5. Glue on some eyes.
I used two different sized wiggle eyes for my craft. Personally I love using googly eyes that already have adhesive backing, because it eliminates the need for glue.
If you don’t have or don’t want to use googly eyes, you don’t have to. You can always make eyes out of white paper and a black marker instead.
