How to Make A Butterfly Sensory Bin
1. Make your green rainbow rice.
You can use this Taste-Safe Rainbow Rice, to make a batch the night before, and have it ready to go the next morning.
I personally love having a batch of rainbow rice that is just green. It’s a wonderful base for so many (especially nature themed) sensory bins.

2. Fill the plastic tub with the rainbow rice and other small items.
Decorate the rice with your craft flowers and butterflies. You can also add in any other items that you would want to play with.

3. Enjoy playing.
My little girl loves scooping and pouring rainbow rice more than anything. So I always make sure that I have plenty of cups and bowls for her to use. This time she decided to make “butterfly soup”. While a bit on the dark side for me, I didn’t have the heart to squash her imagination and tell her that we don’t eat butterflies.
