How to Make a Christmas Sweater Sticker Activity

1. Draw a sweater onto a piece of colored craft paper.

While I drew the sweater onto some red and green paper, this is optional. Regular white printer paper will work just as well. In fact you may prefer to leave the sweater white because then it means your kids can color it in as well as decorate it with stickers.

2. Cut and paste the sweater onto a white background.

Of course, you can skip this step if you don’t want to use colored craft paper for the sweater. However, if you’re doing this activity with older kids, then this step will also help them to practice their scissor skills.

3. Peel and stick the Christmas stickers onto the sweater.

You’re going to need more Christmas sticker sheets for this activity than you think, simply because you’re going to want to do it again and again. Peeling and placing stickers is a fun way for children to practice pincer grip and hand-eye coordination, both of which are essential for developing independence in early childhood.

My kids loved this activity so much that we ended up doing it several times over the next dew days, and I’m glad that I had a little book filled with stickers to keep them engaged. This is definitely a play idea that I’ll be doing again next year.
