What’s Included in the Christmas Activity Pack

1. Upper and lower case alphabet match puzzles

Match the upper and lower case letters to complete the picture. These simple puzzles are a wonderful way for young children to practice letter recognition and matching.

2. Beginning sounds clip cards

Identify the beginning sound of each picture on the card. Then take a clothespin and peg it onto the correct letter. For example, the card above contains a picture of a candy cane. Children will need to clip a peg onto the letter “C”.

This is a wonderful way for children to practice identifying beginning sounds and fine motor skills at the same time. There are 16 cards included, each with a different Christmas themed picture to identify.

3. Christmas Bingo

Playing bingo is always a great way to help kids develop listening skills. Call out a picture and get the kids to cover that picture on their card with a button or other small item. The first player to get four covered pictures in a row wins.

There are 10 different bingo cards included in the Christmas Activity Pack. Which means you can easily do this as a small group activity with your class.

4. Coloring Pages

Get creative with any of these 8 Christmas themed coloring pages. Coloring pages are an incredibly simple way to let both younger and older kids express themselves and have a little bit of time to sit quietly when they need to.

5. I Spy (set of 8 different puzzles)

Count the pictures and write the number in the space provided. This is a fun way to practice counting and number formation with your children.

6. Lacing Cards

Lacing cards are always a great addition to your fine motor resources. I love how easy it is to make and to store away for next year’s class.

All you need to do to make these lacing cards is to just print, laminate and cut out each of the 10 pictures included in the Christmas printable pack. Finally, make the holes around the outer edge using a hole punch. How easy is that?

7. Number sequence puzzles

Identify the numbers 1 – 10 and place them in the correct order. Once the pieces have been put in the correct order you will have completed the image of the Christmas scene. These puzzles come as a set of 6 and are a fun activity that will help children learn number recognition and ordering.

8. Pattern cards

Learn about patterns with some Christmas fun. This is an early math concept that will really help kids flourish as they get older.

The Christmas activity packet has 24 patterns for children to solve, as well as picture tiles to help them complete the pattern sets.

9. Roll and graph

Roll and graph is a fun math activity for preschoolers and kindergarteners. It will introduce them to graphing, and measuring data with a play-based learning approach.

Simply roll the dice and color in a rectangle above the corresponding picture. After 10 rolls, sit back and compare how many times the different pictures landed facing upwards.

10. Scavenger hunt

Now this is always so much fun to play with during the holiday season. My kids always love running around and ticking things off of their scavenger hunt list.

I also included picture tiles of each of the items for you to hide around the classroom. That way I can hide the pictures in different places every day and the kids can do the same activity again and again.

11. Dominoes

Dominoes are a fun way to spend time together on Christmas day. The best part is that it also helps children learn about taking turns.

While these printable dominoes can’t be stood up like the traditional ones can. The pictures mean that you can play this activity with toddlers who aren’t able to read or count yet. So the whole family can get involved for hours of fun.

12. Sort by size

Sort the pictures by size, or by like pictures in this easy math activity. The Christmas activity book contains 8 different sets of pictures than need to be sorted to their respective groups.

This is a great way to teach kids about small, medium and big. Which involves understanding size, spatial sense, as well as classifying and sorting.

13. Christmas tree cut and paste printable

Use this Christmas tree cut and paste printable as a craft, fine motor or sticky wall activity. This free download is also available separately from the Christmas activity pack.

14. Word wall posters

Promote language development by exploring some classic words in our Christmas vocabulary. This is a great resource for circle time as well as showing children how the different words are spelled.

15. Writing tray cards

These ABC cards are the perfect addition to your next writing tray activity. Just set them up as a prompt and encourage your kids to copy the letter in salt or sand of the writing tray.

You can also use these as flash cards for children who are just beginning to learn the alphabet. Or use them as a memory game, where kids have to match the upper and lowercase letters instead.
