- Easter pom poms
- Tongs and tweezers
- A small container
How to make and Play the Easter Pom Pom Transfer Activity
1. Place the pom poms in a small container

Pour your colorful pom poms into a small container. If you don’t have any easter pom poms don’t worry, small easter eggs or any other type of small items (like mini erasers) with an easter theme would work perfect for this activity.
I used pom poms because I had them from when I made my Easter Pom Pom Sensory Bin, but feel free to use what you already have on hand.
2. Pick up a pom pom and place it in one of the ice tray sections

This simple activity is a great way to help little hands to get some fine motor practice. Just by picking up and moving the colored pom poms from one container to the other, young children will work on:
- Hand-eye coordination
- Pincer grasp
- Hand strength
3. Sort By Size or Color

If you are doing this activity at home with your toddlers and older siblings at the same time, there are different ways to make it more challenging for the older kids.
- Sort the pom poms into small, medium and large. This is a good way to help preschoolers and kindergarteners to learn some math concepts while playing with this fine motor activity.
- Sort the pom poms into their different colors. Color sorting is a grouping and classification activity, another math concept that kids of all ages need to learn.
4. Experiment with different tools

Older children can also make this fun activity more challenging by using a fine motor tool.
Experiment with spoons, tweezers and tongs and see how easily they can move the pom poms. You can even try using chopsticks if you really want a creative way to challenge kids.
