Fall Cutting Strips – Instructions

1. Download and print the digital file.

You can find the digital download below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.

2. Cut the strips into the individual pieces.

There are two different types of strips included. One is the traditional pathways. These are perfect for older kids who have some scissor skills and can navigate corners.

The other type of strip is purely a row of Autumn themed pictures, separated by a single short, straight line. These are perfect for toddlers and kids who are still learning the basics and can’t maneuver the scissors around long and curved lines.

3. Trace the lines with manipulatives

Another way to use these strips to develop fine motor skills, is to trace the pathway lines with buttons, pom poms or other manipulatives.

Picking up and placing small objects in a precise location is a great way to develop pincer grip and hand-eye coordination in toddlers and preschoolers.
