  1. Fall Pattern cards
  2. Printer and paper
  3. Scissors
  4. Laminating machine and sheets

1. Download and print the pattern cards.

There are 6 pages, each with 4 different patterns for you to use.

The pdf file can be found below. Just head to the bottom of the page and click the large blue button to get your free copy.

2. Laminate each of the pages

This step is completely optional. However I do recommend doing something with your pages in order to make them more sturdy. Laminating them or placing them in page protectors are an easy way to make sure that they last and can be used with next year’s class too.

3. Cut out the individual flashcards

The last page is a single square of each of the pictures. You’ll need to cut these out so that you can use them to complete the sequence on your pattern game.

1. Observe the pattern within the block.

There are both AB pattern and AAB patterns for young children to explore.

Talk about what they see (which increases vocabulary) and explain what a pattern is.

2. Figure out which picture comes next in the pattern.

Once your kids know what a pattern is and how to figure it out, ask them to find which picture comes next in the sequence on the task cards.

3. Place the correct picture in the space provided.

Find the correct picture and place it in the square provided at the end of each Fall pattern block.
