  2. A printer.
  3. A laminating machine and laminating sheets.
  4. Scissors
  5. String or shoelaces

1. Download and print the free farm lacing cards printable.

The printable includes six different farm animals. Included are a duck, horse, cow, pig, chicken and sheep. Explore the different animals with your kids, what sounds they make, their job on the farm, etc.

2. Laminate Each of the sheets

Run each page through a laminating machine. This will help to make the cards more sturdy so your little onescan play with them again and again.

3. Cut them out.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out each of the individual farm lacing cards.

I like to laminate my cards first, before cutting. But you can swap these two steps around and cut, laminate and then cut again. It all depends on how you want to do it.

5. Make the holes

Use a hole punch to make holes (where the grey dots are), around the edge of each card. This is a wonderful fine motor activity for kids, so you may want to let them help you with this step.

6. Tie a shoelace or string to one of the holes.

Again, this is optional. I like to tie the string to each card because I lose them if I don’t. However, if you have only a couple of shoelaces with you then you’ll probably need to skip this step.
