Materials Needed

  1. Green, purple or black paper.
  2. White paper or white painters tape
  3. Pen
  4. Scissors
  5. Glue

How to make a Handprint Mummy Craft

1. Place your hand on top of a piece of paper.

Pick a color for you mummy, I chose purple, just you can also choose black, green or a dark blue.

2. Trace around your hand.

Place your hand on top of the paper and trace around your hand using a pen.

3. Cut out the handprint.

This is a great way for kids to practice their scissor skills. However younger kids, like toddlers, may not have the required fine motor skills to do this step by themselves. They may need help from an adult.

4. Draw eyes onto a sheet of orange paper and cut them out.

If you don’t want to use orange paper to make the eyes you don’t have to. You can always pick a different color of paper or use googly eyes instead.

5. Glue the eyes onto your handprint and draw a mouth.

I used a black marker to draw a mouth. But of course this is optional, you don’t have to draw a mouth at all if you don’t want to.

6. Tear white paper into strips.

This will be the bandages that your mummy will be wrapped in.

7. Glue the white paper on top of your handprint.

If you don’t want to use white paper, there are a couple of different ways to create your mummy’s bandages. You can also try:

  1. Painters tape
  2. White yarn
  3. Corrective tape

8. Trim the ends of the bandages from the handprint.
