How to Make a Paper Plate Color Match Activity
1. Make the Plate

Use the different colors to make sections around the edge of the plate.
While I used permanent markers, you can also use acrylic paint and just paint the plate instead.
2. Make the Clothes Pin

Use the same pens, or paint to color the tips of the wooden clothespins.
How to Play
1. Identify the Color
Pick up a clothespin and identify which color is on the tip.

2. Clip the Clothespeg onto the Correct Section
Find the same color on the side of the paper plate. Then clip the clothespin onto the section with the matching color.
3. Repeat
Repeat steps 1 and 2 with all of the wooden clothespins.
What You’re Learning
1. Color Recognition
This fun activity is a great way for young children to practice color matching and recognition. You can either focus on secondary and primary colors or just whatever color pens you have access to at home.

2. Fine Motor Skills
Pincer Grip – this is when small children use their thumb and finger to pick up small objects. Such as when you pick up and open the wooden clothespins.
Hand-Eye Coordination – this is when children’s hands and eyes work together to complete tasks. Such as moving and clipping the clothespins onto the correct section of the plate.
