How to Make a Pipe Cleaner Icicle Ornament

1. Gather your materials.

You’ll only need a few craft supplies for this easy idea. I used a variety of the blue and white colored beads for this craft. As well as different colors of pipe cleaners. You don’t have to use different pipe cleaners, however I did because I wanted to see what they looked like.

2. Thread beads onto the pipe cleaner.

I liked leaving a bit of space between each of the beads. However, you can use as many beads as you want.

3. Twist the pipe cleaner around your finger.

This step may be tricky for younger kids because they still have very little hands. Instead, they can wrap the pipe cleaner around a kids paint brush handle to get the spiral shape.

4. Spread out the pipe cleaner until it’s the shape you want.

Gently pull and spread the twirls of the pipe cleaner out, until it is the size and spiral shape that you want.

5. Cut a small piece of string and tie a loop of it to the top of the icicle.

Now you’ll be able to hang your DIY icicle ornaments on the Christmas tree.
