How to Make a Popsicle Stick Snowflake Craft

1. Take 2 popsicle sticks and glue them in a cross pattern.

I used the blue craft sticks from my rainbow craft stick pack. However, if you only have regular popsicle sticks, you can also just paint them after you’ve finished gluing them all together.

2. Take your third popsicle stick and glue it to the middle of your cross, at a 45 degree angle to the original sticks.

3. Take your fourth craft stick, and glue it to the top, completing your snowflake shape.

I like using a hot glue gun for popsicle stick crafts because the glue is strong and fast acting. However, if you’re doing this craft with young children, then a hot glue gun is not an item they can handle.

You’ll either need an adult to do this step for them, or use regular school glue instead and wait for the snowflakes to dry before moving onto the next step.

4. If you are going to paint your craft stick snowflakes, now is the time to do it.

5. Take your gem stickers and decorate the top of your snowflake.

I kept it simple and placed silver gem stickers in the middle and the ends of my snowflake. But of course, you can do whatever design you like.

If you don’t want to use jewel stickers, there are so many different ways to decorate your popsicle stick snowflakes instead. You can also try:

  1. Pasting buttons on top
  2. Using glitter glue
  3. Sequins
  4. Small pom poms

If you want to turn this into a cute Christmas tree ornament, it’s easy. All you need to do is glue a loop of string, or pipe cleaner to the back of your snowflake. Then they’ll be ready to hang up on your tree or in the window.
