How to Make a Toilet Paper Roll Penguin Craft

1. Cut a sheet of A4 black paper and cut it into quarters.

I find that a quarter of a regular sheet of paper is the perfect size for toilet roll crafts.

2. Cut a small arch shape out of your white paper and glue it to the center and bottom of the black paper.

The arch will be roughly 1 ¼ inch wide and 2 ¾ inches high (3 cm by 7 cm). I found that this size was a good proportion for this toilet roll craft.

3. Cut a small triangle out of your orange paper, and glue it to the top of your arch.

This will be the penguin’s beak, so make sure that it is pointing downwards.

4. Cut out two feet from the orange paper, and glue them to the back and middle of your black paper.

For each foot I drew an oval shape, with one end containing a small ½ inch rectangle attached to the top of the oval. This rectangle piece is important because it lets you glue the feet onto the black paper.

5. Cut out two wing shapes from the black paper. Glue them onto the sides of your white arch.

For each wing, I cut out an egg shape, roughly 2 inches high and 1 ½ inches wide (5 cm by 3.5 cm), from the black paper.

When you are gluing the wings to the penguin, don’t place glue all over the entire wing. Only place glue along the top cm or so. This is because you want the wing to fold out, away from the penguin’s body.

6.Glue two googly eyes above the orange beak.

7. Turn your penguin over, and wrap it around your toilet roll.

8. Use sticky tape to attach your penguin to the toilet roll.

9. Bend your penguin feet upwards slightly, so that they are sticking out in front of your toilet paper roll penguin craft.
