Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree Craft for Kids

Learn how to make a Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree with your kids. Children of all ages, even as young as toddlers and preschoolers will love this great Christmas craft idea. It’s easy and looks adorable hanging on the real tree at home.

Materials Needed

Jumbo popsicle stick
8 regular craft sticks (or green craft sticks)
hot glue gun
Green acrylic paint
Glitter Glue
Tiny pom poms

How to Make Popsicle Stick Christmas Trees

1. Glue 8 regular popsicle sticks across the top of a jumbo craft stick.

I used dabs of hot glue to stick the popsicle sticks together, but you can also use wood glue if you have some in your craft cupboard.

2. Draw a triangle across the craft sticks.

Start from the center of the jumbo stick (the top of the tree) to each of the bottom corners, making a triangular shape across the back of your christmas tree.

3. Cut along the lines.

Young kids will need a little help with this step. However older kids will be able to use a pair of scissors or a utility knife to make a tree shape.

4. Paint the regular sized sticks with green paint and the tree trunk brown.

This is optional. If you don’t want to use paint, you can always use green popsicle sticks insead, which you’ll be able to find at your local craft store.

5. Decorate your tree with glitter glue, christmas pom pom and a star sticker at the top of the triangle.

While I used pom pom and glitter glue, there are so many different ways to decorate your fun christmas craft.

I also like the idea of using glittery pipe cleaners to wrap around your cute christmas tree because it’ll look like tinsel. Christmas table scatter is also a great way to decorate your popsicle trees because they look just like mini ornaments

6. Let it dry.
