Handful of Love Card – A 3D Valentines Craft for Kids
This preschooler and toddler craft activity is a fun and simple 3D card that will say “I love you” as well as providing a lovely memento of how little your child’s hand used to be. But if you’re teaching a class of toddlers, don’t worry, this Handful of Love Card can easily be adapted for children who can only create 2D cards.

Adult supervision is required for all activities at all times. Some of the links provided in this blog are affiliate links. I will be paid a commission if you use this link to make a purchase.

How to Make A Handful of Love Card

1. Trace the outline of your childs hand onto some card and cut it out.

2. Use a cardboard roll to wrap the card handprint around. An old toilet roll is perfect for this. This will give the handprint a shape similar to a bowl so that it can hold the hearts.

3. Cut out some hearts in various colors and sizes.

4. Using some Scotch tape, start to stick the hearts onto the palm of the handprint bowl.
You can place the hearts wherever you like, or create a more 3D effect by building little heart towers. I made the mistake of just using regular adhesive tape, making little circles out of it to give the 3D effect.
In hindsight, Scotch tape is perfect for this because it’s slightly thicker and will naturally give the hearts a slight lift off of the background. The scotch tape would be easier for kids to use and would make this step more accomplishable for younger kids to do independently.
