1. White and black paper
2. Pen or black marker
3. Scissors

5. Blue paint

How to Make a Handprint Abominable Snowman Craft

1. Trace Around your Hand

Place your child’s hand onto the middle of a piece of construction paper, then use a pen or pencil to trace around your palm and fingers.

2. Draw the Eyes and Mouth

On the spare bit of paper, on the side of the handprint, use your pen to draw a smiling mouth and a pair of eyes.

This is optional, if you prefer you can always draw the yeti’s face directly onto your handprint instead, then paint around their facial features.

3. Paint the Face

Use some blue paint (or a dark blue marker) to create a small circle in the middle of the palm. I tried to make the edges of my circle fuzzy, so that it looked a little bit more like fur.

If you have decided to draw the facial features onto the handprint, just make sure to not paint over the eyes and mouth when you are doing this step.

4. Cut everything out

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the handprint, eyes and mouth. 

Using scissors is a great way to get younger kids to practice their fine motor skills. However, if you are doing this craft with a toddler, then they may need an adult to help them with this step.

5. Glue the Handprint onto the Background

Spread glue over the back of your handprint, then stick it to the middle of a piece of black or dark blue paper.

6. Glue the Eyes and Mouth

​Paste the mouth and eyes to the middle of the blue circle to complete your abominable snowman’s face.

7. Let Everything Dry

Once everything is in place, all you need to do is let the glue dry.
