Materials Needed

  1. Contact paper
  2. Scissors
  3. Sharpies in different colors

How to Make Christmas Bauble Window Clings

1. Cut out the contact paper.

Use a pair of scissors to cut some contact paper into any size you like. I made mine fairly large, roughly 10 inches in diameter. However if you are doing this activity with a class of children, then making a whole lot of small ones, will mean that you can use them to decorate your classroom windows.

2. Draw your design.

To make the circle shape, I traced around a small bowl. Then I drew a handle on the top of the circle and a pattern on the bauble.

Let your kids create their own designs for their baubles. This is a great way to encourage young children to use their imagination and come up with something unique.

3. Color in your bauble.

Use the sharpies to color in your Christmas window clings. Even though there are a variety of different ways to make these window decorations, using permanent markers is so easy because you don’t have to do any extra prep work. Simply grab your markers and start creating art.

4. Stick it on the window.

Peel the backing off of the contact paper and stick your bauble to the window. The light will shine through the colors and look beautiful, making any room ready for the holiday season.

You can also use this process to make any sort of Christmas window stickers that you want. A gingerbread man, candy cane or even snowflake window clings are all a great choice for a Christmas window display.
