How to Make Subitizing Build It Cards
1. Download and Print the PDF

Download and print the free subitizing build it cards found below. Just head to the bottom of the post and click the large blue button to get your copy.
2. Laminate the Cards
This step is optional. However, if you are preparing this activity for an entire class, then I highly recommend you take this extra step. It will make the cards durable enough so that they can be used year after year.
3. Cut Out Each Card

Use a pair of scissors to cut each sheet of paper into its two individual build it cards. At the end you will have 20 unique cards to go in your math center.
4. Gather Your Blocks

Gather some colored blocks and enjoy playing.
Use whichever blocks you have on hand for this activity. As long as they are able to be stacked, they’ll be suitable.
How to Play
1. Identify the number.

Each card has 9 individual sections, pick one section and identify the number it represents.
2. Build a block tower

Once you’ve identified the section number, build a block tower with the same amount of blocks.
For example, a section with the word “Four” will need 4 blocks stacked on top of each other.
3. Repeat.

Repeat step 1 and 2 until every section of the card has a block tower on top of it.
